Last month introduced many challenges and complications to my life which prevented me from doing anything fun and exciting to report back to y'all - unless of course you count wining and dining interesting which, actually, is more than awesome. It's a productive use of my time and resources as I recuperate from my injuries. One of the many things I indulged in was brunch and a favorite hot spot here in Manhattan is Mother Burger in Hell's Kitchen.
Located at 329 West 49th Street between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue in Manhattan, Mother Burger is a popular brunch spot after a night on the town. It's just across the way from the equally popular restaurant, Blockheads, where patrons will flock to if the former establishment is at capacity. The allure behind the restaurant is in their deliciously prepared foods, killer drinks, and outdoor seating area which allows both the hungover and the pregaming to bask in the sun while enjoying their margaritas and sandwiches.
A popular appetizer is the homemade guacamole and chips ($5.50) followed by your choice of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, or hotdogs. Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 4PM which allows you just enough time to finish your meal and head out to happy hour at the neighboring bars. Chad and I ordered the diced chicken sandwich ($7.95) and buffalo diced chicken sandwich ($8.95) last week and were happily stuffed.
Mother Burger's Mexican Bulldog ($7.50)
I can't say enough good things about their drink selection - it's cheap, effective, and oh so delicious. This can, however, be a dangerous thing as the liquor can barely be tasted underneath the explosion of flavors. My go-to drink is their frozen pink lemonade but I just had to sample their Mexican Bulldog. a frozen margarita topped with a shot of Sauza gold tequila and an upside down Corona.
