Texts with Elle

Texts with Elle was inspired by a few other Tumblr blogs which included, either scripted or real, texts between two parties - such as that of Texts from Bennet and my new favorite, Text from Dog. My best friend, Jason, and I frequently bicker and rant over text and finally decided that it was time for the world to share in and experience the glory of our lives.

Healthy Living 101

"Dude, this is going to cost us at least $250!"

My friend's little brother is in town for the summer and he's the type of person who is content with eating Coco Puffs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'm not one to tell someone how they should live but I do try to encourage a healthier lifestyle, especially when it comes to food. Don't get me wrong, I'm the type of person who grabs a burger and frozen margarita for lunch after the gym but moderation is key. When I noticed all he was eating was cereal and milk for a few days straight, however, my nurturing instincts, domesticity, and love for cooking all came rushing out at once so I dragged him over to Trader Joe's to grab some groceries.

Paige Turner

Hailed as New York City's Elle Woods of drag, Paige Turner has been working the the scene for the last few years and has won over many hearts with her smart repartee and hilarious setlist of both lip-synced and live performances. She recently released her first music video parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" entitled "Fuck Me Thursday!" which adds a dash of glitter and gay to the already homo-tastic song. The parody is ingrained so deep into my mind that whenever Jepsen's song plays on my iPod in the bars or clubs I can hear only Paige's lyrics. Anyone for a big gang bang on Thursday?

MineCraft is a popular computer game entirely composed of blocks in an infinitely generating world. The goal of the game is to gather resources, build structures, and create a world of infinite possibilities. To simplify the concept even more it's essentially a virtual LEGOs game in which the player are able to utilize their surroundings to build essentially anything they could possibly imagine, from chopping down a tree to create wooden tools to mining deep into the earth in search of precious minerals to create an intricate railway system around their world and so much more.

Brunch at Vynl

Me and Jared at Vynl's Sunday brunch.

Vynl, located on 754 9th Avenue on the corner of West 51st Street and 9th Avenue, is a great restaurant in Hell's Kitchen that offers a fun atmosphere, delicious food, and even better drink and happy hour specials. Well, at least it used to be prior to its renovations earlier this year. In their attempt to revamp the place they essentially eliminated their old menu and drinks with a random assortment of items. My friends and I used to come in for their happy hour specials, especially their frozen margaritas, and be ready to stuff our faces full of their amazing burgers, wraps, and fries but those days are sadly gone.
